I love the work that I do, helping you to do the work you love and love the work you do.

I offer career mentoring, CV writing and interview preparation sessions to individuals and also outplacement services which allow companies to support staff and do the right thing if redundancies need to be made.

I also help teams to work together better by offering training to new managers which helps them to step up to their new role.

I can work with other providers to put together packages of support around training and professional development in a number of subjects. I can create a tailored programme for your organisation. Get in touch to talk more about this.

As a wee girl, my mum read me the story of the Maggie Bee. It's about a girl who goes off on a boat and was not afraid of the storms. Thanks Mum! Many years later as a fearless 20 something I got on a plane to go and get some sun on my skin as a holiday rep for 6 months. I stayed for 6 years on land and 2 on sea, progressing to training and mentoring teams. I came home and did the same in retail management, which I did for 7 years before I started in employability over 7 years ago. I sold knickers, diamonds and Duchess Satin but gave it all up to help folk back to work. When redundancy beckoned I decided to follow in my Dad's footsteps and set up on my own, doing the bits I loved from my previous jobs which were training, facilitating, helping people back to work and supporting people to enjoy their jobs.

I offer practical advice tailored to your needs, skills and circumstances and have a great number of contacts and connections to help with the process. Nae sugar coating or grey suits here, come as you are and let's see what we can discover, together.

I believe in getting to know you on a personal level and am open, honest and approachable when discussing difficult topics around work and worth.

As a trainer I am engaging and design interactive sessions that get the lightbulb moments happening. I care deeply about who's in the room and how I can make it work for them.

100% excellent service. I saw a role which would suit me perfectly so asked Laurie to help. She quickly returned a professional looking CV tailored to the role in plenty of time for the application deadline.

I signed up with Laurie during lockdown when I decided to change careers. I opted for The Power Hour support package and just in one hour she totally understood what I was trying to achieve. She gave me direction when I desperately needed it and kept faith that I would secure a new position. Laurie helped with a targeted CV and cover letter, then interview prep and thankfully I was offered the job within a week of my application. Laurie is so professional and supportive as well as being a shoulder to cry on. I don't think I could have done it without her. Cheers Laurie.

I was feeling so lost by the end of last year because I just couldn't find work anywhere. I felt like I was just submitting applications for the sake of it and not hearing back from anyone. But a friend of mine referred Laurie to me and after her Power Hour, I felt so reinvigorated with the job hunt as she gave me so many tips and, most importantly, direction. She even went out of her way to speak to legal recruiters for me to find out what they were looking for. I would recommend Laurie's services to anyone who feels lost in their job hunt.

Having found myself jobless after 45 years in employment I really had no idea who to turn to. Then up popped “my fairy godmother” Laurie. I initially attended one of her Zoom chats then booked a power hour with her. I can honestly say it was one of the most productive hours I have spent in a long time. I now have a very professional up to date CV and have made numerous new connections in the field which I’m hoping to work in, which is completely different to anything I’ve done before. It wasn’t just the practical advice I got, Laurie really boosted my confidence. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.
